Limited Edition 2012 Platinum Poster Set
This poster set was a reward available to members of the North American branch of My Nintendo in 2012 for free via a club-exclusive offer. This was released as merchandise for the popular Nintendo franchises. It included three posters in total and were shipped together in a poster tube. It featured posters from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Luigiās Mansion: Dark Moon. Unlike other rewards from this program, this item was a special elite gift for those members who reached Platinum status that year.
Members who registered 300-Coins worth of products would receive Gold status and those who reached 600-Coins obtained Platinum status. Platinum members could redeem either a Platinum or Gold reward while Gold members were restricted to Gold rewards only.
Background Info:
-
Club Nintendo was a service where members of the program could register select games and consoles that came with codes and give a brief survey in exchange for digital currency, referred to as coins. These coins could be redeemed for exclusive rewards, many of which were physical, but through the course of time, a variety of digital awards would be added, from wallpapers to full games on modern consoles. In addition, members would also be eligible for extended warranties and bonus offers. Once a year, the total overall points earned by a member would be tallied up and depending on the amount earned, the user could qualify for a bonus reward. One of the strong points of the service was the free shipping Nintendo offered to send out physical rewards.
As a service, Club Nintendo would eventually be discontinued and would later be replaced with a similar service called My Nintendo. This new service has a number of differences, such as the lack of a yearly bonus reward, now requiring the cost of shipping, and not offering the same amount of physical rewards.
