McDonalds - Mario Kart (2022)
Milk Jugs |
McDonalds is back with a partnership with Nintendo to releases toys focused around the popular hit, Mario Kart 8. All toys this round are toy cars, featuring varying cast from the game's roster. Each car is able to be pulled back to wind up and accelerates upon release.
Each toy is present inside clear plastic packaging with black ink printed on the outside, bearing the Mario Kart logo. Also tucked in next to the toy is a small sticker sheet inside a separate plastic bag. Some of the stickers included are meant as decals for the kart toys while the others are free for creative use. The backside of the sticker sheet has simple numbered directions to instruct which particular sticker went on what part of the toy.
This toy release is notable due to the fact this line of toys is a re-release from their toy line back in 2014, which the toys being the same as before the addition of the new character, Toadette, now replacing the plastic visor from years back. Another thing to note would be this reveal of toys caught consumers off guard, as it was the first release of McDonald's plastic toy line after announcing the brand would be switching exclusively to paper-based toys.
In addition to toys, a Happy Meal Box featuring game art was released. Both the normal and chocolate milk containers were also Mario-themed, each sporting a familiar-shaped mustache: the normal milk came in a blue bottle while the chocolate milk came on a brown bottle, each with the same design.
