NES Remix 2 T-Shirt
This shirt was a reward available to members of the North American branch of My Nintendo for 700 Coins. This was released as merchandise for NES Remix 2. The front features artwork from the game and the sleeve features the game’s logo. It came in several sizes:small (18” W x 28” L), medium (20” W x 29” L), large (22” W x 30” L), and x-large (24” W x 31” L). Details on how to properly care for the shirt were printed on the inside tag and it is worth noting that due to the material, it can shrink during the washing/drying process.
Background Info:
Club Nintendo was a service where members of the program could register select games and consoles that came with codes and give a brief survey in exchange for digital currency, referred to as coins. These coins could be redeemed for exclusive rewards, many of which were physical, but through the course of time, a variety of digital awards would be added, from wallpapers to full games on modern consoles. In addition, members would also be eligible for extended warranties and bonus offers. Once a year, the total overall points earned by a member would be tallied up and depending on the amount earned, the user could qualify for a bonus reward. One of the strong points of the service was the free shipping Nintendo offered to send out physical rewards.
As a service, Club Nintendo would eventually be discontinued and would later be replaced with a similar service called My Nintendo. This new service has a number of differences, such as the lack of a yearly bonus reward, now requiring the cost of shipping, and not offering the same amount of physical rewards.
Official Reward Description:
Nothing says “I’m a forward-thinking retro gamer” quite like a T-shirt with the vibrant image of pixelated Samus blasting her way through the Mushroom Kingdom to collect some coins. Are you retro enough to rock this stylish black garment as you show your NES Remix pride? If so, hop to it—quantities are limited.
