Pokemon x General Mills Promotion 2021 Cereal
This Pokemon and General Mills Promotion Cereal was released in North America in 2021 by General Mills. It was released with Nintendo to promote Pokemon's 25th anniversary. This promotion was featured on a number of General Mills' popular cereal flavors.
Item Details:
This crossover is not to promote a sweepstakes, like General Mills recent promos with Nintendo at the time, but instead, each participating box of cereal would include a prize inside. Several different flavors of cereal were included in this promotion and inside each box came with a small booster pack of Pokemon cards. There are three cards in each pack, completely randomized, with the exception of a Pikachu card included in every pack. There are 13 different cards in total. These cards were exclusive to this promotion. Upon opening the box, the pack of cards should be nestled toward the bottom. It is not in the bag of cereal itself. The booster pack has an additional small plastic bag sealing it. Controversies: Due to the fact these were released for Pokemon's anniversary event, these were highly sought after by collector's. Much like the promotion in 2021 with Pokemon and McDonalds, collector's would try to find all the cards and scalpers alike. The issue comes with there have been several reports with photo evidence of consumers who had raided the specially-marked box, opened all of them, and stole the booster pack of cards. This would leave a section of opened-box cereal on shelves. Stores would not be able to sell the product in such a condition and would end up having to be scraped. Item Contents:
